MAPLETON – Hector C. Michaud, 78, died unexpectedly Dec. 14, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Portage, the son of Ernest B. and Laura (Paradis) Michaud. Hector was a former resident of Ashland and attended school there. He was a self-employed businessman for most of his life. As a young man, he worked in the family business driving Michaud’s Rolling Market truck. He married Janet Hall and they had five children. He owned and operated the Stuart House, Ashland, for more than 23 years. He later moved to Caribou and owned apartment buildings there until his retirement in 2005. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Edmund, Norman, O’Neil and Eugene; and two sisters, Beulah and Juliette. He is survived by a very special friend, Sally Martin; his brothers and their wives, Lawrence and Maurine Michaud and Clarence “Babe” and Margaret Michaud of Ashland; his sons and their wives, David and Yvonne Michaud of Duvall, Wash., Peter and Dawn Michaud of Masardis, Tim and Lora Michaud of Renton, Wash., Patrick and Joan Michaud of Kent, Wash.; and his daughter, Tami Petersen of Duvall, Wash.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by loved ones, Betty, Ann and Linda, all of Florida. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Ashland. Burial will be at the family lot in the spring.
