ORONO and MACHIAS – Hattie Randall, 88, a resident of Machias, formerly of Orono, died Nov. 13, 2007, at Mount Desert Island Hospital. She was born Sept. 9, 1919, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Norton) Crocker, and was the wife of the late Donald S. Randall, whom she loved dearly. Hattie was predeceased by four brothers, Milton, Lewis, Arthur and Vincent; two sisters, Bertha and Gladys; nephew, Clayton; and special nephew, Benjamin; a special great-nephew, Michael; and a niece, Grace. She is survived by two nephews, Alan and Milton Jr.; six nieces, Hester, Clara, Doris, Kathleen, Joyce and Cindy; two special great- nephews, Richard and his two children, Cameron and Morgan, and George Jr. and his son, Alex; and four special great-nieces, Susan and her son, Jonathan, Kelly, Patricia, Barbara and her children, Max, Nicky, Rowen and unborn Arden. There were many very special friends who meant so much to Hattie, including Harry and Jane Whelden, Dave, Kathy, Julianne and Holly Dow, Jim and Gaby Chatterton and Lilla Flaherty; sister-in-law, Venetta Crocker, Butch Huntley, Bernadette Sanders, and Pat Hildreth. Hattie will be especially missed by her little toy poodle, Dee Dee. The family extends many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Mount Desert Island Hospital who made Hattie’s last days so pleasant and comfortable. Everyone was marvelous to her and the family. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Riverside Cemetery, Bennoch Road, Orono, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone officiating.
