HAROLD A. ‘SONNY’ MORRISON

OTIS – Harold Allan “Sonny” Morrison, 73, died Dec. 19, 2003, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Orrington, the son of Perley J. and Florence E. (Betts) Morrison. Sonny served in the U. S. Army and spoke often of the time he spent in Germany while in the service. Before his retirement, he worked at International Paper in Bucksport. In his younger years, Sonny was an avid hunter and fisherman. Before moving to Otis in 1983, he spent most of his life living in Orrington and Bucksport. He enjoyed Beech Hill Pond and all the hours spent with his “partner in crime,” the late Robert Day. Sonny also looked forward to those precious times with his granddaughters, Hailee and Carli Carter. He was a member of two Masonic Lodges, the Hancock Chapter R.A.M. and the Felicity Lodge No. 19 AF & AM, of Bucksport. Sonny is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria “Ann” Morrison; three sons, Harold A. Morrison Jr., of Bucksport, James Morrison, of Bangor and Perley Morrison, of Alaska; a daughter, Michelle Guimond, of Penobscot; two stepsons, Eugene Snow, of Nevada and Clifford “Chuck” Carter Jr., of Otis; three stepdaughters, Debra Snow, of Dedham, Teresa Torrey, of Ellsworth and Jennifer Rhodes, of North Carolina; three sisters, Geneva Ayer, of Penobscot, Arlene Sprague, of Bangor and Isola Wilson, of Bucksport; he had 10 grandchildren. Friends are invited to a time of remembrance for Sonny, 5:30-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at the Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Spring graveside services will be held at Dean Hill Cemetery, Orrington. <>
