GOULDSBORO – Gloria Lillian Swan, 78, went to be home to be with her Lord Jan. 30, 2004, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1925, at Corea, the daughter of Herbert and Ethel Young. She loved playing bingo and writing letters to her many pen pals. She is survived by her son, Ronald Swan and his wife, Sandra, with whom she made her home in Gouldsboro; four daughters, Frances Warford and her husband, Robert, of Hancock, Susan Webber and her husband, Andrew, of Ellsworth, Cheryl Mulwane and her husband, Allan, of Afton, N.Y., and Lorelee Swan and her companion, Roger Singer, of Canton; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her dear friend and neighbor, Neila Young. She was predeceased by her husband, Harris, in 1982; a daughter, Melanie Sue Swan, in 1972; a grandson, Michael Joseph Swan, in 1979; two great-grandsons, Seth Webber, in 1994 and Chase Webber, in 1997; and her loving cat of 18 years, Baby, in 2003. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, with Pastor Ambrose Rolfe officiating. Internment will be in the spring at the Corea Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to family to assist with the funeral costs to Ronald Swan, 874 West Bay Road, Gouldsboro, ME 04607.
