GERTRUDE MCKUSICK

OLD TOWN – Gertrude McKusick passed away Feb. 28, 2007. She was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Milo, to Arthur A. and Mertie (Gerry) McKusick. She was educated in the Milo schools and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Colby College and her Master of Science in Business from Husson College. After graduation from Colby, she was employed by A.A. McKusick Co., Inc. until 1965. After that she was field director for Abnaki Girl Scout Council of Brewer, and a program administrator for Mohawk Pathways Girl Scout Council of Schenectady, N.Y., from 1972 to 1997. She taught at Beal College, Bangor, in the business administration department. She is survived by a special nephew, Paul and wife, Jean McKusick, and their children and grandchildren. Other nieces and nephews include, Patricia LaVigne, Philip, Peter and Perry McKusick, Cheryl McCory, Geary McKusick, and their families. She was predeceased by two brothers, Durgin and George McKusick. Committal services will be held in the spring at Milo Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be given to the Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 163, Old Town, ME 04468 or the Milo Public Library. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
