WALDO – Geraldine M. Howard, 82, of Waldo died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 30, 1921 in Calais, the daughter of Fredrick and Edith Roy. On Aug. 30, 1956, she married Alfred R. Howard. She was a past member of the Equity Grange, Waldo County and State Grange. Geraldine enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts and flower gardening. In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, Maynard R. Simpson of California, Kenneth W. Hodgdon of Palermo, Richard A. Hodgdon of Waldo, Walter A. Hodgdon Jr. and wife, Janice, of Waldo, Gordon L. Hodgdon and wife, Cindy, of Montville, and Michael A. Howard of Waldo; grandchildren, Jason S. Simpson, Denise L. Hunt and her children, David M. Hodgdon and his wife, Tiffany, of Waldo and their children, Brittani, Christian and Caleb; Kenneth W. Hodgdon Jr. of Waldo and his daughter, Taylor; Daniel M. Hodgdon of Waldo and his three children, Ashley, Brandon, and Corey; Rebecca D. Beckett and her husband, Brian, of Warren and their son, Joshua; Nicholas A. Hodgdon of Waldo and his daughter, Taylor; Michelle Grant and her husband, Joseph, of Palermo and their child, Jessica; Erica L. Stone of Waldo and her children, Jason, Nicole and Grace; Kimberly Randell and her husband, Allen, and child, Whitney; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Avis Pelton. She is predeceased by her children, David C. Simpson, Dale E. Hodgdon and Brenda Lee Howard; and sisters, Juanita F. Parks of Derry N.H., Madeline M. Rodrick of Monmouth, and Helen D. Newell of Jefferson. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. David Abbott officiating. Interment will take place at the Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to the Waldo County General Hospital, Hospice Unit, 118 Northport Avenue, Belfast.
