LAMOINE – Gerald R. Ford Sr., 69, died Jan. 21, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Ellsworth, the son of Orlin and Laura (Bridges) Ford. He lived in Lamoine where he was the town harbor master. Gerald worked in the automotive parts business for a number of years but his true love was spending time along the Maine coast. In his early years he was a member of the merchant marine, he was also a member of the Air National Guard. Gerald was a member of St. Luke’s Masonic Lodge No. 48 AF & AM of Kent, Conn., and the Anah Shrine of Bangor. He is survived by a son, Gerald R. Ford Jr. and wife, Renee, of Brewer; a daughter, Ona Micke and husband, Steve, of Davis, Calif.; two brothers, Bruce Ford and wife, Dottie, of Tampa, Fla., and Dennis Ford and wife, Nancy, of Marlboro; four grandchildren, Jordyn and Joshua Micke of Davis, Calif., and Cecelia and Laura Ford of Brewer. He also leaves behind special friends, Renie Ford of Hancock and Joan Jellison of Washington state. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Maynard Ford. Friends are invited to call 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25. Spring interment will be at East Lamoine Cemetery.
