GEORGE J. CASTONGUAY

VAN BUREN – George J. Castonguay, 95, died Sept. 18, 2005, at a Van Buren nursing home. He was born Oct. 12, 1909, in St. Helene, Quebec, Canada, the son of Paul and Delina (Castonguay) Castonguay. He was self-employed for a few years as a potato farmer, but worked principally as a grade foreman in highway construction for the Cianbro Corporation. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Ed Pelletier and Sons Construction as a highway grade foreman. George is survived by two sons, Herbert Castonguay and his wife, Velma, of Cyr Plantation, Roger Castonguay and his wife, Germaine, of Connecticut; one daughter, Johanna Beaulieu and her husband, Donald, of Caribou; four grandchildren, George R. Castonguay and his wife, Tammy, of Connecticut, Steven M. Castonguay and his wife, Melissa, of South Carolina, Sally Fazzina and her husband, Dante, Karen Amodeo and her husband, Sebastiano, all of Connecticut; seven great-gran-dchildren, Steven Castonguay, Gabrielle, Isabelle, and Stephen Fazinna, Sebastian, Lance, and Olivia Amodeo. He was predeceased by his wife, Edmay (Gagnon) Castonguay; and by a son, Elmer Castonguay. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
