ELLSWORTH – George Hollis Anderson, 81, died April 19, 2007, at an Ellsworth health care facility. He was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Ellsworth, the son of Frank W. and Marion (Coughlin) Anderson Sr. George worked for New England Tel & Tel for 32 years. One of his favorite things to do was go to his camp on Green Lake. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. George supported his wife and family going to church. He loved spending time with his canine friend, Charlie. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Eleanor; sons, James L. Anderson of Ellsworth, Stephen D. Anderson and wife, Antonia, of Cape Elizabeth, and Mark L. Anderson of Owls Head; daughters, Kathleen L. Anderson of Ellsworth, Sheila M. Kunzweiler and husband, Tim, of Dayton, Ohio, and Cynthia M. Zucchero and husband, Joe, of Cape Elizabeth; sister, Janice Morse of Ellsworth; brother, Frederick Anderson and wife, Dorothy, of Brewer; grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Chelsea, Sean, Sarah, and Christian; and longtime friend of 60 years, Ivan Whitney. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Whitehouse Anderson Jr.; and sister, Mary Anderson Readman. Calling hours will be held 2- 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Community of Christ, 283 State St., Ellsworth, with Seventy Clifford Gray officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. May 24, at Woodbine Cemetery.
