EASTON – George B. Higley, 85, died Aug. 28, 2005, at his home in Easton. He was born Feb. 18, 1920, in New Haven, Conn., the son of George E. and Lyla (Barrows) Higley. He had been employed as the supervisor of maintenance at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield building in North Haven, Conn., for several years. Prior to that, George owned and operated Higly’s Flying, a service station in Guilford, Conn., for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Carolyn (Brazee) Higley of Easton; a son, George R. Higley of East Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Susan Patterson and her husband, Wayne, of Easton, Althea Simeone and her husband, James, of Thomaston; eight grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Higley of Arizona. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Joyce Higley; a brother, Lorin Higley; and two sisters, Helen and Althea Higley. Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Dan Blavins officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Estes Park Cemetery, in Easton.
