INDIAN TOWNSHIP – Geneva Marie LaCoote, 42, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. Gen was born Dec. 11, 1964, in Calais, daughter of Lawrence and Loretta (Sopiel) LaCoote Sr. She enjoyed playing bingo, going for walks, and spending time with her family and friends. Gen was predeceased by her father, her grandparents; and a sister, Maria LaCoote. Surviving are her loving companion, Gerald Stevens; her mother, Loretta LaCoote; five sons, Dustin LaCoote, Clint Sabattus, Lance Sockabasin, Corey LaCoote and Dylan LaCoote; three sisters, Elizabeth LaCoote, Maria Nicholas and husband, Leslie and Sylvia Sockabasin and companion, Nancy Polches, all of Indian Township; three brothers, Dean LaCoote of Indian Township, Lawrence LaCoote Jr. of Summersville, W.V., and Dominic LaCoote of Brewer; special cousins, Juanita Sopiel of Calais and Anne Sopiel of Indian Township; a special aunt, Marjorie LaCoote; special friends, Lillian Howard and Janet Neptune; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Friends may call starting 7 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Tuesday at her mothers home, 57 Hemlock Point Road, Indian Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Mission, Peter Dana Point, by Fr. Frank Morin. Burial will be after at Tribal Cemetery.
