BELFAST – Francis John Talbot, 90, of Belfast passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005, at a local health care facility. He was born June 17, 1914, in Baileyville, the son of Peter and Anita (McMenamin) Talbot. He served with the U.S. Army and in 1940 started Talbot Furniture in Bangor. He later owned the Gun Shop and the Home Furnishing Company in the Colieseum building on Main Street, Belfast, before a fire destroyed the building in 1974. He was a daily communicant at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church in Belfast. Francis is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martina (Ellsmore) Talbot of Belfast; and several nieces. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, Court Street, Belfast. Arrangements are under the care of the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to the charity of their choice.
