BANGOR – Floyd E. Dole, 90, died Jan. 18, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born June 13, 1917, in Bangor, the son of Eugene and Minnie (Floyd) Dole. Floyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Bangor Hydro and Electric for 42 years, was a member of Hammond Street Congregational Church and their Dartball Team, and a member of Hampden VFW Post No. 4633. He is survived by one son, Eugene Dole of Roseville, Calif.; one granddaughter and two nieces. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia (Jordan) Dole; his sister, Ruth E. Dole; and one brother, Ira Dole. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Allen Doty, pastor of Hammond Street Congregational Church, officiating. Fri-ends may call 1 p.m. until time of the service Tuesday.
