PROSPECT – Evelyn A. Hamm, 63, passed away Wed-nesday, July 18, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1944, in Levant, the daughter of Eugene A. and Dorothy M. (Mayhew) Ross. Evelyn loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Through her illness, she was only concerned about how the rest of her family was doing. Evelyn will be remembered for her heart of gold. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband, James “Jim” A. Hamm of Prospect; daughter, Valarie Overlock and partner, David Hall, of Atkinson; two grandchildren, Harley Mae and Brandy Ann Hall of Atkinson; 13 brothers and sisters, Gertrude Ross of Carmel, Vivian Rines of Newburgh, Donald and Nesta Ross of Newburgh, Bernice Overlock of Carmel, Rodney and Virginia Overlock of Newburgh, Cecil and Mary Ross of Levant, Darrell and Shirley Ross of Lincoln, Ronald Ross of Newburgh, Melvin and Regina Ross of Carmel, Sandra Turner of Etna, James and Geraldine Somers of Newburgh, William and Edna Ross of Levant, and Gary Ross of Levant; several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Albert Ross, Dana Ross, Archie Ross, and Harrison Ross. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held noon Monday with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of Hermon Baptist Church.
