ASHLAND – Elizabeth J. “Betty” Donovan, 65, died unexpectedly Feb. 28, 2004, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass. She was born June 22, 1938, in Sheridan, the daughter of William “Nun” and Maude (Doll) Carney. She was employed as a cook for several years at the Four Seasons Diner in Ashland. Betty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Ashland. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Donovan of Ashland; three daughters, Michele Ireland of Ashland, Kelly McInnis of Lakeland, Fla., and Karen McInnis of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Roy Carney of Howland, and Wayne Carney of Winn; three sisters, Jeannette Demers of Medway, Virginia Libby and Rena Beaulieu, both of Millinocket; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by one son, David McInnis Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland, with the Rev. Scott Mower, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Attn.
