ELIZABETH ANN ‘BETH’ THOMPSON

SKOWHEGAN – Elizabeth Ann ‘Beth’ Thompson, 34, went to be her Lord, Dec. 25, 2007, at her home with her family by her side. She was born June 19, 1973, in Waterville, the daughter of Kenneth Lybrook and Jeannean (McLaughlin) Taylor. She had worked from the age of 12 to 26 in the family business of Jock’s Variety, Fairfield Center. She touched many lives with her courage throughout her disease and personal trials. She married Scott Thompson, June 18, 2005, and she was a devoted wife and homemaker, enjoying their dogs, Copper and Waylon and two cats. Beth was attending the University of Maine veterinary assistant program and also volunteering at Somerset Human Society. She tried to live life to the fullest and not let the tumor ruin her life. In addition to her father of Concord Township and mother of Island Falls, she is survived by her husband, Scott Thompson of Skowhegan; one special brother, Kemp Lybrook of Skowhegan; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Duska McLaughlin of Dyer Brook; paternal grandparents Eloise and Bill Lybook of Fairfield; and a very special lifetime friend, Karyn Caffyn-Meres of Plymouth. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Kenneth Murray. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Federated Church of Skowhegan with Pastor Mark Tanner officiating.
