MONSON – Elizabeth A. Copeland, 85, died July 28, 2007, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Willimantic, a daughter of Coney and Mildred (Knowles) Packard. She attended Willimantic schools and worked as a stitcher in area shoe shops for many years. Liz is survived by two daughters, Artella Moody of Willimantic and Charlotte and husband, Ivan Higgins, of Derby; a sister, Eila Packard of Brewer; stepson, Robert Copeland of Portland; four grandchildren, Jeffery and wife, Julie, Jackie and husband, Brian, Kevin and wife, Lou Anne, and Kim Higgins; five great-grandchildren, Charlie, Erick and Tim Moody, Ashley and Brandon Higgins. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest; brothers, Bruce and Lytle Packard; sisters, Marguerite Perry and Joyce Humphrey; her first husband, Everett Copeland; and son-in-law, Orville Moody. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, where friends may call 1-3 p.m. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Willimantic.
