SEARSPORT – Edwin E. Noyes, 78, died Nov. 9, 2007, at a Belfast hospital. He was born May 11, 1929, in Farmington, the son of Charles and Jennie Noyes. He grew up in Waldoboro, and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Noyes worked in the poultry industry, running chicken farms. Edwin was a kind and gentle man, who thought of others needs, before his own. He is survived by his loving companion of 32 years, Verna M. Sweet of Searsport; six children, Irene Noyes of Canton, N.C., David Noyes of Belfast, Naomi Parsons of Canton, N.C., Louise Greenier and her husband, Michael, of Ellsworth, Joel Noyes of Sears-port and Nathan Noyes of Waldo; four grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Turnbull and her husband, Brad, of Camden, and Viola Raleigh and her husband, Raymond, of Waldoboro; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport, with Pastor Enoch Brownell officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Searsport.
