BANGOR – Dorothy E. Carlisle, 78, wife of the late Bernard Carlisle Sr., died Dec. 11, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Old Town the daughter of Leland and Katherine (McLean) Pinkham. Dorothy worked for many years as a cook in the Bangor school system, retiring as head cook at Mary Snow School. Dorothy is survived by her eight sons, Richard Carlisle of Bangor, Buster Carlisle and his wife, Judy, of Hermon, Arthur Carlisle of Bangor, Bruce Carlisle and his wife, Marsha, of Bangor, Bill Carlisle of Bangor, Don Frances and his wife, Jan, of Fredericksburg, Va., David Carlisle and Bernard Carlisle Jr. both of Bradley; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was predeceased by her husband of 40 years in 1990; and two infant daughters, Brenda and Gayle. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, chaplain of Husson College, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments following the services Tuesday to Miller’s Restaurant, 427 Main St., Bangor.
