INDIAN ISLAND – Donna Marie Couturier, 43, died Sept. 2, 2007, in the hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born July 16, 1964, in Bangor, the daughter of Ronald F. and Merlene Ann Couturier. Donna loved life, but there was one love that was stronger than all others, the love for her son, Brandon Couturier. Donna enjoyed life surrounded by her friends and family, she loved spending time at camp and had a passion for hot, fast cars. At the time of her death, she owned a black Ford Mustang, which is now the property of her son. Donna was a graduate of Old Town High School, Class of 1982, and she grew up on French Island. She spent her adult life working a variety of jobs, but always had time for her family. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her son, Brandon Couturier; sister, Denise Hauger and her husband, David; two nieces, Kayla and Paige of Indian Island; and numerous cousins and friends from Indian Island. She was predeceased by her parents. Special thanks are offered to CancerCare nurses, Ann and Helen at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Friends may call 9 a.m. Thursday until the Mass of Christian burial 2 p.m. at Saint Ann’s Church, Indian Island. Deacon Fred Harrigan will preside over the body, and the Rev. Bill Labbee will officiate the celebration of her life. Friends and family are invited to the parish hall for refreshments and continued fellowship after the service.
