LAGRANGE – David O. Wellman, 44, husband of Patricia J. (Pare) Wellman, died Jan. 3, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 24, 1961, in Bangor, the son of Paul R. and Alta L. (Herbest) Wellman. David had many occupations during his life. He was a cook, a woodsman and most recently, became the proprietor of the LaGrange General Store, as well as co-owner with his son in P & D Logging. He was a generous supporter of many groups and organizations, including a new project, the Veterans Memorial in LaGrange. He will always be remembered for his generous heart and the care and concern he showed to family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of LaGrange; a son, Paul H. Gray of Medford; a daughter, Maranda I. Peirce and her husband, Andrew, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; his stepfather, Ronald Baker of LaGrange; three brothers, Dennis Wellman and his wife, Kathleen, of LaGrange, Glen Wellman and his wife, Tina, of Sangerville, Joseph Baker and his wife, Jennifer, of LaGrange; four sisters, Paula Peirce of Ellsworth, Gayle Decker and her husband, Fred, of LaGrange, Renee Wellman of LaGrange and Joanne Smith and her husband, David, of Bradford; many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by many close friends. Friends are invited to call 2-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, with Chaplain Richard Dickinson officiating.
