FORT FAIRFIELD – Dale N. Grass, 60, died Thursday morning, May 24, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility, after a brief illness. He was born March 20, 1947, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Owen K. and Pauline E. (Sears) Grass. Dale graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968. He was predeceased by one brother, Gregory K. Grass; and one sister, Wendy J. Burns. He is survived by his parents, Owen K. and Pauline E. Grass; three brothers, Larry O. Grass, Nick B. Grass and his wife, Karen, all of Fort Fairfield, and Jim F. Grass and his wife, Sharon, of Presque Isle; special friend, Anita Deschesne of Fort Fairfield; nine nieces and nephews, Jayson LaCroix and Matthew Grass, both of Fort Fairfield, Kelly Canney of Mars Hill, Amiee Saucier of Fort Fairfield, Rachael Burns of Staten Island, N.Y., Courtney Burns of Portland, Katelyn Godin, Cassidy Godin and Nathan Godin, all of Fort Fairfield. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, at the funeral home with Asa Cook officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Grass to the Maine Veterans’ Home, 163 Van Buren Road, Caribou, ME 04736. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
