MACON, Ga. – Clinton Ernest Waugh died Jan. 19, 2008. He was born July 5, 1921, in Andover, New Brunswick, the son of Stanley and Jane Waugh. He married his wife, Elizabeth Fowles Waugh at Saint Johns Episcopal Church, Bangor, in 1947. He was a long-time resident of Bangor and managed the Bell Shops in downtown Bangor, until he was transferred to Presque Isle, to become the manager and media spokesperson of Zayre department store in 1962. Mr. Waugh managed the Zayre store until his retirement in 1980. He and his wife then became residents of Sarasota, Fla., from 1980 to 1998, when they moved to Macon, Ga., where he resided until his death. Mr. Waugh is survived by his sister, Mary Kelly of Herman; and his two sons, Gary S. Waugh of Macon, Ga., and Stephen E. Waugh of Presque Isle. Mr. Waugh was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Fowles Waugh, Sept. 11, 2007. Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Macon, Ga., had charge of arrangements.
