WARWICK, R.I. – Clifford K. “Kip” Kidney, 44, a lead optician and lens maker in the laser optics industry, died July 15, 2004, at Kent Hospital, Warwick. He was the husband of Jacqueline L. (Foster) Kidney. He was born in Presque Isle, a son of Kevin C. and Alice (Theriault) Kidney of Washburn. He lived in Frederick, Colo., for 12 years before moving to Warwick in November of 2003. He worked for Opheir Optics of Wilmington, Mass.; having previously worked for 10 years for Alpine Research Optics of Boulder, Colo. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A. Kidney; and a son, Matthew K. Kidney, both at home; three sisters, Elizabeth E. Kidney of Vernon, Vt., Kathryn R. Kidney of Brattleboro, Vt., and Kristie Kidney of Quechee, Vt.; a brother, Erik Kidney of East Swanzey, N.H.; and his paternal grandmother, Marge (Brown) Farley of King William, Va. A funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at Carpenter-Jenks Quaker Lane Chapel, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, R.I. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, in Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn. Memorial gifts may be made to the Kip Kidney Memorial Fund, 569 Fair Street, Warwick, RI 02888.
