SOUTH PORTLAND – Christine M. Harrison, 82, of Cottage Road, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at a Portland nursing home. Mrs. Harrison was born in Waterville, a daughter of David S. and Lillian L. Whitcomb Conley. She was educated in Waterville and Portland schools. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Montclair, N.J. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Portland. She received post-graduate work at Lying-In-Hospital, Providence, R.I. She was a Communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Portland. Christine started her nursing career as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in the 1940s, retiring in the 1980s. Her hobbies included quilting and being with her friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving is her husband, Richard C. Harrison of South Portland; a son, Richard M. Harrison and his wife, Donna, of Buxton; a daughter, Ann Marie Harrison Cadman of South Portland; three grandchildren, Christopher M. Harrison of Saco, Amy Lyn Harrison Barter and her husband, Cory, of Portland and Jillian Cadman of South Portland; two great-grandchildren, Kayden E. Harrison and Egan H. Barter of Portland. Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, South Portland. Interment will be held after at Forest City, South Portland.
