CHARLOTTE (GILLEY) IVERSON SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Charlotte (Gilley) Iverson, 76, beloved wife of 55 years to Raymond Iverson, died Dec. 22, 2004, at Mount Desert Island Hospital after a long illness. She was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Henry and Doris “Trask” Gilley of Southwest Harbor. Charlotte attended Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor and graduated in 1948. She loved animals, arts and crafts, gardening and just spending time at different scenic locations on Mount Desert Island. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Gail Roberts; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Jasmin of Winstead, Conn., and Janet Tower of Wilmington, Mass.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond W. Iverson Jr., in 1996. Upon the families request, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Maine Affiliate Corp., P.O. Box 521, Skowhegan, ME 04976. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Southwest Harbor with the Rev. Vesta Kowalski officiating. Arrangements were made by Jordan-Fernald Funeral Homes, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert.
