AUBREY PYNES WILSON

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Aubrey Pynes Wilson, 90, died June 20, 2005, at a local nursing home. He was born Aug. 15, 1914, in Sangerville, the son of Isaac and Queenie (Pynes) Wilson. He graduated from Sangerville High School, Class of 1933, and attended the Maine School of Commerce in Bangor. He excelled at sports and played semiprofessional baseball as a young man. During World War II, he served as a Pharmacist’s Mate in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Triangulum in the South Pacific. After returning home he owned and operated Wilson Photograph Studio in Dover-Foxcroft for more than 40 years. His photographs appeared locally and in national publications. He was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Methodist Church for more than 50 years, a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a 25 year member of the South Sangerville Grange. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Parkman, Mitchell) Wilson; two daughters, Lorna (Wilson) Carroll of Kingston, N.Y., and Deanna (Wilson) Latella of Skowhegan; a sister, Louanne (Wilson) Bahm of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor (Lunt) Wilson in 1956; and his brother, Kenneth Wilson in 2005. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Gastonguay, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Dover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 62, Dover-Foxcroft 04426, or to Hibbard Nursing Home, Special Care Unit, P.O. Box 159, Dover-Foxcroft 04426. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
