DOVER-FOXCROFT – Anna D. Merrill, 84, wife of the late Lawrence W. Merrill, died Aug. 15, 2006, at a local nursing home. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Sherman and Gretchen (Powers) Dean. Anna was a lifelong resident of Dover-Foxcroft, except for the years she spent traveling with her husband Lawrence during World War II and was always happiest providing a loving home for all her family and friends. Anna, with her husband, Lawrence, were lifelong members of the United Methodist Church of Dover-Foxcroft and enjoyed taking part in various church activities. In past years, Anna was a member of the Community Garden Club. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Stutzman and her husband, Richard, of Sangerville; four grandchildren, Eric Stutzman and his wife, Susan, of Dallas, Ga., Craig Stutzman and his wife, Karen, of Harmony, Alicia Stutzman of Sangerville and Kristen Schoepe and her husband, David, of Gilroy, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Aliza, and Sarah Stutzman, Melinda, Marcus and Mattie Schoepe and Drake Stutzman; a sister, Dorothy Henderson of Veazie; two sisters-in-law, Arline Dean of Dover-Foxcroft and Joyce Dean of Sun Prairie, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald Dean and Myron Dean. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church, with Pastor Neil Gastonguay officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Gray Cemetery.
