EAGLE LAKE – Alphonse J. Fournier, 100, husband of the late Elsie (Gagnon) Fournier, died Feb. 2, 2004, at an Eagle Lake healthcare facility. He was born June 20, 1903, in Fort Kent, the son of Eloi and Emelia (Saucier) Fournier. For 35 years Alphonse worked as a foreman in the woods for Roland Perreault and 16 years for Carlton Lozier. He is survived by his children, Dora Huntley and her husband, George, of Bangor, Clarence Fournier and his wife, Rolande, of Eagle Lake, Hampy Fournier and his wife, Earline, of Eagle Lake, Mary LeBlanc and her husband, John, of South Windsor, Conn.; his sisters, Gladys Michaud of Florida and Eagle Lake; his brother, Roland Fournier and his wife, Lila, of Florida and Eagle Lake; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Elsie; a daughter, Rella Thibodeau; a son, Roy Fournier; four brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at the Daigle and Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until the time of departure for Eagle Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake, with the Rev. Bill Labbe officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery.
