BANGOR – Alice Rae (St. Laurent) Staples, 59, died Dec. 16, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1947, in Dover, N.H., daughter of Germain L. and Ruth A. (Hilliard) St. Laurent. She was a graduate of Dover High School, Dover, N.H., and was employed in the electronics business for many years. Mrs. Staples was a member of the Bangor Grange, the National Grange, a junior deputy of the Maine State Grange, a member of Penobscot Pomona, and a past master of the Hiram R. Roberts Grange of Rollinsford, N.H. She was a very active member of the Pug Rescue. Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Ruth A. and Homer H. Van Sickle of Dover, N.H.; husband, Rolf R. Staples Sr. of Bangor; two children, Dora Staples of Portland and Rolf R. Staples II and his wife, Jennifer, of Bangor; two grandsons; one brother, John G. St. Laurent of Brownfield; nieces and nephews. A gathering will be held in the spring at the Bangor Grange Hall, Ohio Street. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
