Man dies on Interstate 95 in Burnham

BURNHAM — A 60-year-old man died of a heart attack early Sunday as he traveled as a passenger in a car on Interstate 95, according to Steve McCausland, spokeperson for Maine Public Safety.

The man was stricken near mile marker 143, and a passer-by who noticed the situation stopped and administered CPR with the help of state police dispatchers.

Clinton Rescue and Sebasticook Valley Hospital Ambulance arrived at the scene and the man was taken to MaineGeneral Hospital in Waterville where he was pronounced dead.

Because this was a medical call and police personnel were not involved, the man’s name was not released.
