ST. She was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Sherman Station, the daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Cyr) Bouchard. After marrying Frank, Sept. 1, 1934, they lived in Mattawamkeag before moving to Millinocket and raising their children. After Frank Sr.’s retirement, the couple moved to Medway. They became “snowbirds” moving back and forth between St. Petersburg, Fla., and Medway. Eventually even summers in Maine were too cold and they summered for a time in Hendersonville, N.C. In recent years they lived exclusively in Florida. Helen, a devout Catholic, was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Millinocket. She was an avid bowler in Millinocket. Upon moving to St. Petersburg, Fla., she and Frank became active members of Mirror Lake Shuffling Club. She also enjoyed weekly concerts, playing cards and activities at Sunshine Center for Senior Citizens. She was known for her yummy baked goods that she sold for the club. Helen’s pride and joy were her eight grandkids and 12 great-grandchildren, who were frequent visitors to her Florida home. Surviving are sons, Frank Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Millinocket and Peter and wife, Vivian, of Bridgton; daughter, Mary Hurd and husband, Charles, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Anna Bouchard; many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Frank, July 19, 2007; a daughter, Marlene; brothers, William, Lester, Frank, Fred, Willard, Newell, Lawrence and George; and sisters, Dora Beaulieu and Leona Montgomery. A memorial service was held Aug. 1 in St. Petersburg, Fla. A Mass of Christian burial for both her and her husband, Frank, will be held 9 a.m. Sept. 27 at St. Martin of Tours Church, Millinocket, with Father Joel Cyr, presiding. Burial will be at Mattawamkeag Cemetery after the funeral and luncheon.
