Two juveniles arrested in Caribou break-in

CARIBOU, Maine — Quick action by members of the Police Department reportedly prevented a robbery at a local business late Tuesday night.

Just before 10:30 p.m., a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were caught after allegedly breaking into Noyes Flower and Plant Shop on Franklin Street.

According to Sgt. Ron Curtis of the Caribou Police Department, a resident reported seeing suspicious activity at the business.

Officers Keith Ouellette, Craig Peterson and Dwight Wilcox went to the scene and found the youths inside the premises, having gained access by forcing a back door.

The two juveniles were arrested and each charged with burglary and theft, felony crimes. They are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 14.

In the meantime, they were released into the custody of their parents.
