VERONA ISLAND – Georgia I. Gray, 86, passed away peacefully, Aug. 18, 2008, surrounded by her family at her home, after a serious illness. She was born April 27, 1922, on Verona Island, daughter of George F. and Viola M. (Bridges) Anderson. Georgia enjoyed making biscuits for the many public suppers during her lifetime. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Potter of Orland and Audrey Benzinis of Penobscot; two sons, Glendon Bevan of Verona Island and Wayne Bevan of New York; two sisters, Patty Bridges of Verona Island and Vivian McLaughlin of Bucksport; one brother, Ronnie Anderson of Bucksport; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two husbands, Richard C. Bevan and H. Weldon Gray. At her request, there will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Riverview Cemetery, Route 15, Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
