HOULTON — A 72-year-old Linneus man suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident Wednesday morning.

According to Cpl. Dana Duff of the Houlton Police Department, Paul MacDonald was leaving the Ricky Ascott residence on South Street in Houlton when the throttle on MacDonald’s 1999 Yamaha motorcycle stuck.

MacDonald lost control of the motorcycle, crossed South Street and glanced off a telephone pole. The impact threw him off the motorcycle which landed on its side in the road.

Duff said MacDonald, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was taken by ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital, where he was treated and then released.

The motorcycle had $2,500 in damage. Duff said the accident remains under investigation.
