LIVERMORE, Maine (AP) - A 32-year-old Sumner man has been arrested on two counts of murder in the shooting deaths last month of two men in West Paris.
State police detectives arrested Duane Waterman on Monday afternoon while he was fishing at Brettuns Pond in Livermore. Spokesman Stephen McCausland of the Public Safety Department said Waterman will be held at the Oxford County Jail pending an initial court appearance, probably Tuesday or Wednesday.
Waterman is charged in the killings of 50-year-old Timothy Mayberry and 43-year-old Todd Smith, whose bodies were found July 26 in West Paris.
During the investigation, detectives spent three days searching Waterman’ s home.
