Houlton: Man wanted in robbery arrested

Bangor Daily News

HOULTON, Maine&nbsp- State police have arrested a Tennessee man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last month, according to a press release from Sgt. Tom Pelletier, Troop F.

Ronald Lewis, 18, was arrested Sunday and charged with Class A armed robbery and Class C reckless conduct with a firearm.

The armed robbery occurred at a gravel pit in Littleton at about 9 p.m. June 30. Lewis was armed with a handgun when he took a 30-pack of beer from some people who had gathered for a party in the pit, Pelletier said.

Witnesses say that Lewis pointed the gun toward people there and refused to leave without the beer. Lewis then fired the gun into the air and left on foot on the ATV trail. Lewis was not known to the victims at the time of the incident.

A description of Lewis was given at the time. A follow-up investigation by Trooper Jeff Clark found the unnamed suspect to be Ronald Lewis. Lewis recently had moved to Maine from Tennessee, and was residing in Littleton. The investigation is ongoing. Other charges may be pending.

Lewis is being held at Aroostook County Jail, Pelletier said.
