Four deaths, including one apparent homicide, were recorded in Somerset County over the holiday weekend.

The body of Rita St. Peter, 20, of Anson was found Saturday morning on a dirt road off the Campground Road in Anson. According to the attorney general’s office, St. Peter’s body was discovered by a young man who used the road to exercise a team of horses. There was no apparent attempt to conceal the body.

Authorities ruled out any possibility of suicide and stated that death was a homicide. An investigation is being conducted by the state police with the assistance of the Madison Police Department and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

“We do have suspects,” said Senior Assistant Attorney General Pasquale Perrino, but no arrests had been made Sunday night. The results of an autopsy on the body were being kept confidential.
